Who do you blame? A tarot spread to work through blame
Why use tarot cards to solve problems?

Shame spread: A tarot spread to help you cope with shame

Shame is a painful emotion, and it can significantly affect your mental health and well-being.

The feeling of shame can have one or more of three roots:

  • someone said something that makes you feel ashamed,
  • you did something that makes you feel ashamed, or
  • you have an inner conviction that you should be ashamed to be you.

One way to deal with this complex emotion is to work it through with tarot cards. Here is a spread that will help:

10-card spread groups of two

  1. What is the source of your shame?
  2. What in particular makes you feel ashamed?
  3. What is important about this feeling?
  4. How can you best deal with it right now?
  5. What can you do to make you feel better?
  6. What could help you forgive yourself?
  7. Who can support you while you struggle with this emotion?
  8. What can you do that will make you feel better about yourself?
  9. Pretend you are a compassionate friend: What is the most caring and kind thing you can do for or say to this friend?
  10. What did you learn?

Please let me know how this spread worked for you.
